Sprout

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Sprout (“we”, “the app”) is an offline-first personal finance application. Your financial records are stored on your device. We do not operate a Sprout cloud account or backend that receives your transactions, wallets, budgets, goals, debts, or notes.

1. Data we store on your device

Depending on how you use the app, Sprout may store locally:

Database files may be protected with on-device encryption where the build supports it. Biometric/PIN lock (if enabled) uses your device OS; Sprout does not store fingerprint or face templates.

2. Data we do not collect on Sprout servers

We do not upload your financial ledger to Sprout-operated servers. There is no Sprout cloud sync of transactions in the current product.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free, ad-supported build may show ads using Google AdMob, including:

What Google may process

When ads are shown, Google and its partners may process information such as:

This processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob / advertising partner disclosures.

Consent and privacy choices (UMP)

Where required (for example EEA/UK), we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent before personalized ads.

Children’s advertising

Sprout is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app if you are under 13.

4. Optional on-device analytics

Settings → Privacy → Anonymous analytics is off by default.

When enabled, Sprout may record local, in-memory usage events (for example screen views, feature usage, ad impression/revenue metadata, anonymized error snippets).

5. Notifications

If you enable bill & budget reminders, Sprout schedules local notifications on your device. Reminders require a native build (not Expo Go).

6. Backups and exports

7. Permissions

Depending on platform and features, the app may request:

8. Third parties

Party Purpose
Google AdMob / UMP Ads, consent messaging, ad measurement
Apple / Google (OS) App distribution, biometrics, notifications, share sheet

Sprout does not sell your personal financial data.

9. Data retention and deletion

10. International users

If you are in a region with consent requirements for ads, Google’s UMP form is the primary mechanism for ad-related choices. Contact us if you need help with rights related to Sprout’s own processing (which is primarily on-device).

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact
